Take your EGO down a NOTCH!
Many of us are experiencing different levels of egoism. Some of us are already making the switch to embracing the eco "friendly" mindset, blocking out anything that promotes segregation and negative emotions. While the rest of us are desiring a much more balanced approach between our "Mind" and our "Heart". Whichever road you feel that you are travelling, we are all learning our lessons at our own pace. The struggle to "tone" our ego down has a lot of people questioning how!?
Good news for you, there's a solution! Just like everything else, all you need is a little "practice". With daily commitments, and a strong willingness to learn, you will be on the road to a much HAPPIER--YOU! Here are a few steps I created to help provide you some helpful tips to creating a "balanced" lifestyle, where both the "Ego" and "Eco" can peacefully co-exist.
1.Listen-This step is truly crucial. We tend to block ourselves from listening to the fundamental knowledge the Universe is constantly unveiling, and "tuning in" too much into our egotistical thoughts. What we fail to understand is that "listening" to both sides is vital for our development. Ignoring the ego is choosing not to accept "what is". When we take the time to hear both parties, we are "accepting" what is, which in return, allows our "mind" and our "heart" to be heard, leaving room for a harmonious pairing.
2. Words-I'm sure we all heard the famous phrase, "Actions Speak Louder Than Words", well in this case our WORDS create the most sound. If you think about it, words hold a lot of power, it is through a person's intention that energy is provided to help fuel them. So, when you are speaking words of POSITIVITY you are connecting more to your "Eco" side, oppose to the NEGATIVITY spoken out by your "Ego". However, it is perfectly okay to allow the ego its time to vent. Suppressing yourself from freely expressing your deepest self, could cause more damage then good. As long as you follow up your vent session with some inspiring affirmations to cool you down, you will be one happy hippie!
3.Action-Ready, set....CUT! Ever wonder why some of your friends and/or family "cut" their emotional ties with you? Maybe your relationships all end in some tragic heartbreak, and you find yourself ALONE!? Well, before you start boarding the "choo choo, boo hoo" first hear me out, YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE! That's right, we ALL have travelled down that road once or twice before, but every road has its turn and eventually we will all be wise enough to take it. I describe other's as "walking mirrors". Sometimes what is being reflected is easier to accept about ourselves, then the cracks we call D-E-N-I-A-L. When we act from our EGO, it tends to repel more than attract. We are more likely to be drawn to a more ECO oriented being. That is where the beauty of reflection comes into play. When we surround ourselves with like-minded energies we tend to "awaken" to what we reflect. For example; Your best friend of 6 years decided to speak disrespectfully to a woman you once knew, you seeing this, decided to speak up and tell him to knock it off. He replies "But you use to think this was hilarious, bro", your response "Well, not anymore. We're done!" Did you see what just happened? That very action you once thought was humorous, ended up awakening you to a side of yourself you no longer had interest in entertaining. It took someone else to bring it to light, and because of that you were able to "release" the old and embrace the "new!" The point here is that everyone we meet in our lives (positive or negative) play an important role in your spiritual transformation to becoming a BETTER YOU! And if it wasn't for your EGO, you would've never seen what you saw, and that opportunity to embrace the ECO path would've been obsolete.
4.Acceptance-And that brings me to my final step "Acceptance". When we finally come to terms with our dueling sides, we find a happy medium. It is only through acceptance, that our soul has truly learned its lesson. Remember that when past experiences keep resurfacing into your present reality, they are seeking your attention. You must review what has been resurrected, and address it with COMPASSION, FORGIVENESS, and finally ACCEPTANCE!
